Am I Ready for the Love I Say I Want?
By Choya Johnson, MPLC · Why Not Live Your Best Life?
It is easy to spend a great deal of time thinking about the person you hope to meet.
But healthy love also invites another question:
“Am I prepared to recognize, receive, and participate in the kind of relationship I say I want?”
This isn't about blaming yourself for relationships that didn't work.
It is about becoming more aware of your choices, standards, boundaries, patterns, and emotional availability so that your future decisions can become more intentional.
Reflection Questions
1. Do I clearly understand my relationship values?
2. Can I maintain my standards even when I am strongly attracted to someone?
3. Can I recognize emotional unavailability even when I want the relationship to work?
4. Can I communicate my needs without feeling that doing so makes me difficult or demanding?
5. Can I tolerate being alone without accepting unhealthy companionship?
6. Have I made peace with relationships that have ended, or am I still emotionally connected to something I need to release?
7. What relationship pattern have I repeated more than once?
8. What are my true relationship non-negotiables?
9. Can I be emotionally vulnerable without abandoning my boundaries?
10. Do I genuinely believe that healthy love should include consistency, respect, reciprocity, communication, and emotional safety?
DEEPER REFLECTION
